My sister-in-law on Nantucket lost power for 12 hours. Though she sat by the fireplace with her four cats, the house got down to 56F before the power came back on. Still, as she said, it's a first world problem.
I am mildly annoyed by an email I got from DFA asking for support for 7 Chicago aldermen and referring to Rahm Emanuel as "your mayor." Either they know where I live or they don't. Am I really to suppose they don't know my address and am sending this to everyone in the country? But if they do know my mailing address, they know it doesn't read "Chicago."
Some year ago, when our Oak Park DFA Meet-up was still active, we decided not to get involved in Chicago politics because we didn't understand it well enough. That still goes.
The Kids and Grands in Maine got 30" of snow (so far!) plus winds of 20-30 with gusts 40-60, so lots of drifting snow! Imagine digging your cars out of waist deep snow TWICE in the same day!!
Dean is as first as a blizzard falls hard.
ReplyDeleteNo power outage reported in Springfield area, according to Boston Globe.

Somebody at DFA isn't doing their homework!
DeleteBright, sunny, clear and cold. Hope everyone in the way of the snowzilla is safe, and warm and electrified.
