The song lyrics puddle posted on the last thread took me back to a couple of Songs of the Pogo that the three bats sang a Christmas. The first one went: Deck the halls with Boston Charlie Walla Walla Wash and Kalamazoo Nora's freezing on the trolley Swallow dollar cauliflower alley-ga-roo
The other went like this: Good King Sauerkrauts looked out Upon his feets uneven As the snew lay round about
"What's snew?" "I don't know. What's new with you?"
It is, rather surprisingly, currently 41 degs and raining here too. The prediction was for mild temps, in the 50s, both today and tomorrow with rain but, alas, no snow.
44F here with light rain. I'm delighted!! The Birches are freed from the ground and rising up and up by the hour!
Yep, working for 5 hours after two weeks off and one of those weeks sick was definitely too much! At least I don't go back now until Saturday!
Cleaning house and preparing to welcome the child (Root*Center*Son, ha!) and also the Child, taking rests every 40 minutes or so. "I'm not quite dead. I'm getting better." ;-)
56 degrees here with weather advisories. Bad winds, lots of water. Tomorrow doesn't seem to be so bad though. That's when I'm holding the family brunch, and hoping they'll concentrate on the excellent food and not the lack of house cleaning.
Been spending most of the past two days ridding my shoulders of all the demons who have been screaming, "I should have been taken care of months ago." (Demons because I've been reading one of Stross's Laundry Files books.) I'd like to say "all" the demons, but every time I clear something away I think of something else that needs to be done now if your yesterday.
But I need to get back to work on the grant application tomorrow if not tonight.
Dean is First this Christmas Eve Day.

Not sure where that predicted winter storm went to. It's current 41 deg with light rain.

DeleteWe three kings of Orient are
ReplyDeleteBearing gifts we traverse afar
Field and fountain, moor and mountain
Following yonder star
Oh, star of wonder, star of might
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to the Perfect Light
Born a Babe on Bethlehem's plane
Gold we bring to crown Him again
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign
Oh, star of wonder, star of might
Star with royal beauty bright
Westward leading, still proceeding
Guide us to the Perfect Light
Listener, sounds like maybe you overdid it yesterday. I hope you can rest and recoup over the weekend.♥

ReplyDeleteHouse cleaning is overrated. *grin* It should only be committed in moderation and with lots of rest periods.
DeleteBeen raining softly since before I got up. Cooler tomorrow then back up Friday and Saturday. Seems to change hourly, lol!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
