Happy All Hallow's E'en!

Vt*Grand designed this after watching Rodgers and Hammerstein's 1965 version of Cinderella with us recently.  It first came out when Grammie listener was 9 years old!  Now that it's out in DVD (50th Anniversary coming up), it is wonderful to share it with a new generation!  In my humble opinion, Disney has nothing over Rodgers and Hammerstein!)

  1. Howard is still first, and the pumpkin coach is excellent, and very, very clever.

  2. Cold Halloween and VERY windy. The winds are reportedly creating 25-ft waves on Lake Michigan with minor flooding. Penny tells me there were a few big flakes of snow this morning, but no accumulation.

  3. 36º and drizzle. Maybe we *will* get our snow after all. . . .

    1. Dry here so far and 37F. We're kind of hoping for some of the white stuff, since we got the gardens all put to bed and today got the Spring bulbs planted! I only planted Early Spring bulbs, because there are already plenty of mid-Spring bulbs out there and after that I am into the planting anyway.

Anybody get Trick-or-Treaters? We had the Cinderella Pumpkin, and a little pumpkin that VT*Grand cut, and a basket full of Milky Ways. But no takers whatsoever. We could hear them if we went outside; but they all went over to the development and we're just a house or two too far away.

    2. We couldn't have trick or treaters because the yellow jackets haven't been disposed of. Is it just about cold enough they will be dormant and con be safely dealt with?

  4. My Grands all did Hallowe'en up in grand style. The three girls (ages 8, 7 and 5) dressed, respectively, as Hermione Granger, a conventional Witch, and Elsa. Funny to see their props. One had a black broom she traded in for a heart-shaped wand, the other sort of witch had a Harry Potter style wand, and little Elsa needed only her fingertips to cast her special magic! Ha!

Grandson (age 18 months) had a great time too! Mom made him a John Deere green tractor out of a box that she styled and painted. He dressed as a farmer and sat inside it, set into a wagon. The wagon was pulled by his Dada (my youngest) dressed as a black and white Cow! Mama dressed as a chicken! E-I-E-I-O! Sooo funny!!

  5. That really sounds fine, listener! A photo would not be amiss.

First winter storm of the year--we are getting a bit of rain, and there is supposed to be a bit of snow in the mountains. Off to the hospital for the weekend come morning.
