  1. Zounds! Howard Dean! Lash your camels to the telephone polls and let's wander on over...

The past two or three days here have been much nicer temperature-wise. A pretty big tropical storm came up and dumped a lot of rain on southern California--mudslides around San Diego and suchlike. Typically for such a storm, we had cloudy skies, just a bit of rain, and lower temperatures--down to the high eighties, and now in the nineties. Definitely an improvement over a-hundred-and-too-much.

    4. I think I missed something. How did we get from camels and telephone poles to giraffes and camelopards?

    5. Well, for me, it was a great rant on the old blog from kimmy which contained "lash your giraffe to a lamp post". . . .

    1. After listening to Jo Ann Kelly's version of "You Gotta Go" I had to listen to Fred McDowell's version; I really must get a compilation of his recordings; a great artist, not just good.

  3. Gee, my brains really have turned to mush. Make that eight minutes from zero to full power (still faster than nuclear or fossil fuel power plants of comparable size, I believe), and seven workers killed. (The construction company consortium was charged with manslaughter--I don't recall if they were convicted.)

  4. A note or two on the last thread.

Today I took a drive to visit a very dearly beloved friend so we could enjoy a delicious repast and have a great time talking about everything and nothing at all. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh~!!
