Hmmmm...I just checked the birdsong site [Hearing Loss and Bird Sounds again. The notes I can hear are about an octave higher (according to the graphs there) than what I estimated as my maximum range of sound using Garage Band and Wikipedia, which makes more sense; somehow I must have made a mistake. That would make my limit of hearing around 3200 cps, which corresponds to a conventional telephone. It is still surprising that I can hear the differences among the various Grado headphones. --Alan Barbour
Always a pleasant surprise find your range is larger tan first supposed.
Alan, you would probably enjoy all of Flanders & Swan's repertoire, which is not large. It is available (or was) in a three-CD boxed set with a nice booklet. Their stuff is charming, witty, occasionally pointed and altogether delightful. Apropos of the discussion on the last thread, I think particularly of "The Reluctant Cannibal' - links to follow.
You're welcome…and I agree. I think the purpose of his candidacy is the same as Howard's though: to raise awareness and bring key issues into the conversation. If he happened to win as well, that would be fabulous, but I'm not planning on it.
Can't wait to hear what your parents say about the tee shirt. ;-)
I've been having a blast from the past sort of day. This morning I got an irresistible urge to listen to "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" by Wham http://youtu.be/pIgZ7gMze7A). Then, when we were out this afternoon, I hapd a Bib Mack attack.
Howard Dean still sounds pretty good to me!

At US Amazon I only see The Complete Flanders & Swan as an MP3 download. Here's the link:

But the CD boxed set can be had from Amazon UK. Here's the link:

Listener, thanks for the Bernie T-shirt link. I've ordered. Unfortunately, me thinks Bernie is an even longer shot t than Howard.

It is possible that Dad doesn't know who Bernie is. Mum will think I'm totally nuts. But then, she thinks that already;)
DeleteUpdate: Mum "liked" the Facebook post of the Bernie T-shirt. Surely, this is a good sign? 8grin*
