Relax...

  1. Relax...Dean is First!

I need to relax today; I can still feel the tension in my body from yesterday. In fact, my left eye is still a touch blurry, but my regular eye doc says to give it a few days to readjust after all it went through yesterday. Too bad I have to go to work. I'm trying to think of a nice way to say back off when the head clerk starts complaining about the director and new children's librarian. She's my boss, so I tread lightly, but with the perspective I have right now about what matters and what doesn't, all her griping will seem more petty than usual.

    1. Kitty Yoga!

Actually, the kitties did Kitty Tai Chi with me today! We got a donation at the Library of a Tai Chi DVD made especially for people over 50 and I am testing driving it. Today I watched the intro and the first lesson. The first lesson was all about how to relax your neck! PERFECT for me right now!!! Best of all, it begins with some woodwind music, and the kitties came running to the TV when they heard it! They are fascinated with flute, woodwind and harp music…the notes being akin to bird sounds! LOL!

  4. As for work…I was pleasantly surprised. The Head Clerk was in a grump mood today for some reason, barely spoke and never asked me how I was. That was a surprise given that I missed yesterday's staff meeting and everyone knew it was due to an eye issue. But I was pleased not to have to tell her about it.
Then another coworker came in who I've known for about 20 years and she was very concerned and solicitous, and actually appropriate in her questions and show of kindness. I am grateful.

  5. Guys, I need your help, specifically your superior eye-sight. If someone has time and inclination to follow the link below and find a nice photo of Bing from 1945, preferably one *not* wearing a dog collar (*grin*), I'd really appreciate it. I have a great song, "Close As Pages In A Book," that I want to put up on YouTube; but, it's from one of those Smithsonian American Songbook compilation CDs. I will use the CD cover, but ideally there should be a picture of Bing too, and my vision just isn't up to the challenge. Several of the photos do seem to be stills from "The Bells of St. Mary's, which presents a further complication. Hence my request for aid. But if it's too much trouble, don't sweat it - just tell me.

Here's the link to the Google image results - click:

  7. I just couldn't help myself when you suggested I have "superior eyesight." Given my current situation, I thank you for an opportunity to feel empowered.
