    1. Doesn't Dean still live in Vermont? The presidential and vice-presidential nominee can't be from the same state.

Yeah, I know I'm being too picky. [grin]

  2. Funny, as this page was loading, the convo on Upstairs Downstairs was about an upcoming weekend at Shelbourne, lol!

  3. Angel was put to sleep this morning. Dad said she was obviously in terrible pain.

No one told me. No one woke me up to say goodbye. Fortunately, I saw her last night, talked to her and petted her for a while and told her I loved her. Of course, I realized she was still sick. All the same, it was - it is - a terrible shock.

    3. Oh Catreona, I am so sad for your loss, including the loss of the chance to be aware of the moment and to say good-bye. ♥ Sending a big ol' hug and a bowl of ice cream your way.
=^. .^= Good for you taking the time to tell her last night that you loved her. That will stay with you.

    4. Sometimes there is simply no good way to do something, no way that will not leave regrets. All we can do is what seems best at the time, and none can find fault with another for that. You continue to participate in her karma, cat.

    1. Yes, I noticed the fix as I came by for one final pass.

      Happy Birthday, Howard!

  5. Is that Queen Anne house Howard and Judy's place? I thought theirs was more modern.

"listener11/16/2013 09:49:00 PM--I want to sing that song!"
The version on the Wikipedia page is very much over-orchestrated. Better to go to YouTube, and listen to non-English versions so the words don't distract one. The Italian version is the best!

And I realized that I had the tune of the refrain not quite right. Will make a CD and listen to it to rectify that problem.

P.S.: Memorizing two verses and the refrain will satisfy me, I think; but there are six verses in the original.

  6. Today's weather was interesting, to say the least. Major, major thunderstorm a bit before I was ready to walk to the book discussion. I was glad the discussion leader and his wife offered to pick me up on their way. An ever heavier downpour about 45 min. after we got to the restaurant where the discussion takes place. And wind, wind, wind. Tornados in the general area, although not particularly close. But after that second downpour there was a rainbow and about an hour of sunshine before more wind and rain. Not quite as windy now, but the temperatures have dropped from the 60s to the 40s.

And I think the stucco work on the house starts tomorrow. If the weather doesn't intervene.

    1. Yikes, Bill!

I think we're getting some of that wind today, though no thunderstorms in last night's downpours.

So glad you got a ride and got home safely.

I'm leaving momentarily for meetings in NH; home in the dark...watching for Bambi and Bullwinkle the whole way. Let's hope the bright moon comes along for the ride!
