I have my Howard Halowe'en button--"Bush Scares Me."
On another note altogether, I found myself thinking the other day about whether it might be time to get a more modern "smart," if you will--phone. In response to a little article about Amazon working with HTC on a phone, I got to thinking about what a Kindle Phone might be like, and what I might like. After speculating about it for a couple of days I started googling and discovered that not only has Amazon evidently assembled the basic building blocks, there has been a lot of speculation along the same lines I had been thinking. Well, I will wait; it could be interesting. In the meantime I will chat with co-workers to see what they do actually with those "apps" on their fancy cell phones. I have looked at the Amazon and Apple "app" stores, and they seem to be chock full of things that are of no interest whatsoever to me.
Oh, I saw in the news that the Red Sox won the World Serious.
Ah, yes, Alan. It seems to me that history already shows that Bush remains a scary dude to most people, evidence by his lack of air time.
Boston not only seriously won the World Series, but won it at a Home game in Boston for the first time since 1918. I guess third time's the charm!
I have the iPhone 5S, and have a few aps that I am very grateful for, most were FREE, and the others cost $1 to $5. It is very handy to suddenly have at my fingertips a high resolution zoom camera (Camera Plus Pro), and I can share my photos on the run, a Weather radio with automatic weather alerts, daily weather info (WeatherUnderground), news, a Flashlight!!, calculator, maps and GPS, as well as clock, calendar and alarm clock (with many sound options). Best of all, I may use these literally ANYWHERE, even as a passenger riding down the Interstate, because of continuous wifi coverage. It's really pretty impressive.
I think what I like best sbout the iPhone is being able to check the Internet whenever I want a question answered., and to see the blog from away. In fact, my iPhone never drops my post half way through writing it, the way my computer does, and it always opens Reply on the first try!
I have iPhone 4 which came with a lot of stuff I don't understand much less use. I do find the calendar helpful since I tend not to know what day or date it is. The clock is handy - I often use the alarm - and the World clocks, while not really useful for a homebody like me are fun. I also have the basic Yahoo weather that came with the phone and have several World cities set as well as Springfield. I love the camera - it was the first thing I learned how to use. I can check the blog and Facebook, the latter with the Facebook ap which must have been free. But my favorite thing and the one I use most is YouTube.
Angel had a pretty good if quiet day. She "spoke" twice, for the first time in several days and this evening she had a small dish of ice cream, again for the first time in quite some time.
The dentist went well, except for the X-rays. Man, but they must make those films for giants! The hygienist used the smallest size, and it still hurt like bloody blue blazes. The rest went fine though. I do need to go back next week because the doctor wants to check one of my fillings that is between teeth as it were. I guess it's a big deal - I'll have to have novacane. He didn't really say, but I gather he thinks the filling is coming loose or something. Well, better to get it seen to earlier rather t han later.

ReplyDeleteCompletely left off that I have full email capability.
What I opted not to have, but is available, is a way to see and use all the files on your computer...but you must leave your computer on.

ReplyDeleteGood job, Angel! =^. .^=
DeleteI was a black cat for Hallowe'en! I had to work, so dressed up with cat's-ears headband and a matching tail! LOL!

ReplyDelete'Twas loverly having the door open all day. Supposed to be big winds tonight, but I'm not going to worry about it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the filling, Cat. I agree about the X-rays!!
ReplyDeletepuddle...we had some rain and wind here for Hallowe'en, but it was so nice and warmish (58F at 8pm!) that nobody minded a bit!! :-)
