  1. On a day like this in DC, it's sure still Howard Dean.

  3. Absolutely. Probably the Republicans would have attacked his healthcare plan as fiercely as Obama's, but we can still dream that things might have been different.

  4. At our last stop before Montreal, i.e. Cleveland, the weather seemed dismal; but today (9/30) in Montreal could hardly have been nicer. A little humid, warm but not hot during the day, blue sky with a few fair weather cumulus clouds. I am sure there are gritty places in a metropolis of this size, but we did not see any where we went. If it weren't for the winters, I could be tempted to live in Montreal. It's obviously vibrant, cultured, chockablock with universities and very nice neighborhoods. Tomorrow we rent a car and head for Ottawa. The trees are beginning to turn color; I shouldn't be surprised if we see some very pretty forests along the way.

    1. Alan! Thanks for checking in!
Yes, Montreal is beautiful. So many churches too...one on almost every corner. My favourite building is the one with the rise tinted windows! It is actually attached to the Anglican Cathedral and it's function is a ministry of that church. My favourite part of the cathedral is the little children's chapel off to the right as you enter. Did you know that there's a Mall underneath the Cathedral?! It makes it easier to shop come Winter.

The trees here are gorgeous too. I love this season!

  5. I don't know about anybody else, but I'm finding it hard to concentrate on work with the country on the verge of shutdown. And I can no longer put 100% of the blame on the Republicans. Delaying the individual mandate for a year wouldn't have seriously hurt Obamacare in the long run.

    1. Well, I DO put 100% of the blame on the Republicans. Obama has caved to them over and over and they're still never satisfied. Bunch of pissy children. Domestic Terrorists as far as I'm concerned.

    2. I would go so far as to put the lion's share of the blame on Tea Party Republicans, but there's enough to go around for the rest of the Republicans, who don't stand up to the crazed ones. I am so pleased that the President is standing up to them all this time. He has always been negotiable before and they NEVER negotiate in kind.
