    2. A few more comments left on the last thread. LOL!

I suppose it's time to set some comments here! So here's a start...

"LOL do we all grow more harmless as we grow older? That's a scary thought!

It's a sad day, isn't it, when we consider a potential president *not* dissing Howard as not only a good outcome but very possibly the best outcome we can hope for? It's a lousy, unfair world." ~ Catreona

Well, Cat, more harmless with regard to the activity in question.

As regards our expectations...I hear you! The sad day was the day everything fell apart in Iowa. I still maintain that the main cause of that outcome was actions taken by Dems who were running opposed.

  2. To Cat's post on the last page: Yes, in some ways it is surprising that I am not more engaged in politics at this time. Some of that is that I don't have time to read the myriad of fundraising appeals I get, some of which have useful information as well as pleas for dough. But I am surprised the news sources I follow, including Huffington Post, don't seem to be talking about Congressional races.
So why don't I have time for these fundraising appeals? Some of it is that my energy level is not what it used to be. Some is that I seem to have more work than I thoeretically should. A good deal is that I'm spending too much time on an e-mail list for people who run science fiction conventions. And right now, of course, I am busy with preparations for running accessibility services at the upcoming Worldcon. Not to mention that, even though the parade is past and all bills are paid, I still have a few duties as treasurer and director of the Disability Pride Parade.

  3. Cat: This reminds me. I'd like to ask a favor. LoneStarCon has developed an app that will allow people to view the schedule and mark the item they want to see. It works with any device and operating system. I've tested it with Windows high contrast settings and ZoomText screen magnifier, but it hasn't been tested with a screen reader. If you would, please, go to http://www.lonestarcon3.org/mobile/ and see if it works properly with WindowEyes. It's not just for this con, but will probably be used at others as well.
