It's a bit like being on holiday to come by and be surprised by the day's new photo offering! Thanks, puddle! ♥ Love this White Rain photo, and feeling a little more of your life. XOXOXXX
Donno why, but that photo reminded me of the cover of a Fantasy novel, something gentle like Lord Dunsaney.
Nothing much going on here except continuing blessedly cooler temps. Looks like they're going to creep back up over the coming days, but not yet to 90 or beyond. Let's hope we've seen the end of that for a while!
Made it through the July/August Analog and am now working on the August Asimov's. Also still breezing through R.A. Salvatore's Legends of Drizzt books. These are Sword and Sorcery, terribly derivative but a good, lightweight read. I especially like the title character. He's a bit more introspective than your average action hero. Audible doesn't have all the books Library Thing lists in the series though, so I guess I won't find out his ultimate fate.
Cats cost their staffs money as well as time. $200 to have a huge abcess in Morticia's mouth lanced. But that includes the antibiotics and special food for the next two days.
And it's worth it to keep them healthy, if not perhaps entirely happy. Pippa had to have an infected claw removed yesterday. She really should have gotten a stitch, but she wised up. Also had a long-lasting anti biotic shot Mum didn't tell me how much it all cost, but from previous experience I'm sure it was pricy. Still, Mum was relieved to have gotten the sore paw seen to. And Pippa is feeling better, which is what counts.
Ours get shot out of the saddle on Wednesday. At least their rabies shot will be every three years now. It's for just incase they ever escape their indoor life and happen to meet a rabid neighbour. Low probability, high seriousness.
D E A N !
