Wouldyoubelieve I've gotten EIGHT calls from Tea Party groups in the last two days, including one from Rick Santorum?!! Who the heck put me on their wicked list!?! ALL of them are robocalls, so I have to sit through the speal to get to the "take me off your list" option. Day Two I also started calling the number back and selecting the donation option so I could get to talk to a human. Then I am very polite but explain that I am NOT a Republican, have asked to be off the list and am still getting calls, and (having volunteered for campaigns) I explain that they need to check off in the campaign computer not only not to call me about this topic, but to check off not to call AT ALL!!! Gotta nip this in the bud or it will mushroom! I half think they are calling people they are sure don't support them and their goal is to cost us something by making us call them!
Before you mentioned these were robocalls I was inclined to give the callers a pass. After all, they stood with us in trying to end the government routinely collecting everyone's phone information. (The Tea Party can sometimes be consistent about preferring small government.)
Nobody gets a pass into my home at all hours, not even the folks I agree with! I am on the Do Not Call List and believe strongly that it should apply to political parties and even non- profits. Junk calls are even worse than spam or junk mail!
Read that the Republicans are copying Howard's 50 State Strategy. That might have something to do with the robocalls. Too bad the Democrats didn't keep up with that. It worked very well.
