Today PhD*Son and Me*DIL celebrate their 9th wedding anniversary. As soon as we were past the wedding, we joined the Dean campaign. Wow. Nine years...really?
Well, I spent the evening setting up a cause at causes.com. Some guy whose FB friend request I'd accepted because he had an Engelbert connection and mucho mutual friends with me invited me a few days ago to join a cause that made no sense to me. It was something along the lines of "Keep Terrorists from attacking US diplomats", something like that. My reaction was, "And, how exactly is a Facebook petition supposed to do that? So, I just shrugged and moved on.
Then, he invited me to the cause "Ban Islam and Sharia Worldwide." The description claims it is meant to educate people about Islam but, with a title like that, who do they think they're kidding? Scary! So, I un-friended and blocked him and messaged folks that I know are admins of Enge groups, warning them to keep an eye on him.
Then I made my own cause. Getting it sorted out took a while, but it finally seems to have posted on my FB profile. Thanks, Puddle, for liking it. I mean, maybe they have a right to free speech, but my personal view is that hate speech doesn't deserve to be protected.
Suuuuper Tired tonight. Got up early to try and snag a ticket to see the Dalai Lama when he speaks in Vermont on October 13th. Apparently I don't have enough good karma, because the box office page kept crashing and they sold out before I could procure a ticket.
Then I took a very dear friend and her youngest to the airport so they could fly to NYC for eldest daughter's wedding this weekend. I can't wait to pick them up on Monday and hear all about it!
Then I got a haircut and went to work. If only my old tortoise pace could have been quickened by a couple of French ponies! Ha!
About to dive under the Wing. I get a four day weekend, because the Library is closed for the local, annual Harvest Market. We get paid as if the Library had been open, too! Sweet!
Howard is SO first!!

Been an amazing nine years, all around. . . .
ReplyDeleteSo strange, really, watching rePublicans come apart at the seams. Not really nice people. Wonder how they're going to take losing?
ReplyDeleteProbably not well.

Perhaps I should have looked at today's birthdays at Library Thing a trifle earlier.
