Made 15 dozen cookies tonight (I know, I know), then perused 2 Library Journals that I need to turn in tomorrow at work. Now to sleep 'til noon if my congestion allows, then off to work. Then four days off! Woohoo!
Good news! It turns out that a do have a backup copy of the deleted folder. It's 5 months out of date, but it has all (I'm pretty sure all) of the books I thought I'd lost and the large majority of those I thought I'd have to re-download. Doesn't include yesterday's tweaks, of course, but I now see how to do those more efficiently.
Ah, Bill, that's *wonderful* ~~ Much, much better than the alternative. YAY!
And yay! for the cookie making Queen!!
We're right at freezing. Mostly gray, with little patches of blue/sun every now and again. Looks like I'll be heading down to DC on Christmas morning (and back that night).
segue. Thanks for that. I knew the spelling wasn't quite right, but at that hour I wasn't going to search. Turns out I might as well have stayed up and searched. Couldn't sleep due to super stuffy nose. Wicked sinus infection underway, I think. Might have to go see the doc before heading to Maine tomorrow...hoping to get something more than a "tough it out" response, for a change.
I simply saline nasal spray will help relieve the stuffiness -- keep the secretions loose and easily disposed of. Won't do much to cure the actual infection, of course.

Ever heard the adage: Read the instructions. FIRST!
I've been spending some hours working on the Disability Pride Parade's form 990-EZ (which isn't all that EZ). That's the equivalent of a tax return for charitable organizations with gross receipts normally between $25,000 and $500,000. Then I read down to the end of the instructions and discovered that for organizations in their first year (that's us), "normally under $25,000" means "under 37,500" (that's also us). So all we have to file is form 990-N, which is super simple.
But some of the things I saw in the instructions about state forms led me to check out the Illinois requirements. Turns out we should have registered with the Attorney General at least 9 months ago. Ouch!
Well, Bill, I've been doing the saline drill since I got the vital laryngitis at Thanksgiving. I've also been using Tears II eyedrops multiple times per day, running a humidifier and using an expectorant, and cough medicine and cough drops as needed. All this was going on before I got the sudden and potent bout of sinusitis.
I just read that the usual thing is to tough it out for a week and see if it gets better. If not then it's probably bacterial and they'll relent and give you an antibiotic. So it sounds like I have a rough week ahead.
The family said to come anyway, if I feel up to it. They say they're in contact with lots of viruses and stuff all the time, and may have already had it. (Truth be told, I may have picked it up from them last weekend.) So I'll probably go to the gathering anyway. We'll see.
I'm not sure it's even worth calling the doctor tomorrow, only to hold up our leaving for the family party, then be told to tough it out. =Sigh=
As Christmas approaches, Howard remains first.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of doughnuts, I need to get my bedtime snack and hit the road to Dreamland.
ReplyDeleteUnder the wing, friends, next to the heart.
I love that lack of segway! LOL!

Tonight's for wrapping presents! Deck the halls, etc. Wish I had some egg nog. . . .
ReplyDeleteLOL listener. There was a segue there somewhere in my mind, something about doughnuts, but I can't now remember what it was.
ReplyDeleteGreat, Bill!
ReplyDeleteWe had flurries last night, but nothing solid, so to speak. Sis and I are very annoyed.
ReplyDeleteI like eggnog too. Do you at least have some good Christmas records to listen to while you wrap and deck?
ReplyDeleteHad some tapes. Have some CDs, but don't know where either are, lol! May go looking.

ReplyDeleteHURRAH!! I'm sooo happy to hear this Bill! Back ups sure make life nicer. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou can always hum!
ReplyDeleteCat, send me a refrigerated truck and I'll send you all I can pack into it!! We got another 7" last night. Honest, I'd really rather share!

ReplyDeleteI like egg nog, but I'm rather glad we never have it in the house. Just too perfect a way to gain the weight I want to lose instead.

:-) Thanks for making me smile, puddle!
ReplyDeleteThat says it, Bill! :-)
