"One of the funny things about actors is that people look at their careers in retrospect, as if they have a plan," she said.
"Mostly, you just get a call. You're just sitting there going, 'Oh, my God. I'm never going to work again. Oh, God. I'm too old. Maybe I should . . . ."
And it starts the *minute* the curtain closes on the last night. . . .
Already changed over to EST. I seem to do a bit better adjusting if I do it ahead of time. Makes Saturday afternoon a bit krezzy, but by tomorrow morning, I've already settled in. If I wait till the middle of the night, I don't seem to do as well.
Never got any snow. Doesn't even look like we got a frost: still right at forty.
Daughter arrived as planned, but walked in holding Granddaughter*from*ME!!!
This is our eldest, 4-yr-old granddaughter, and it was a total and complete surprise! In fact, it was a spontaneous decision, made because Granddaughter knew that Daughter (Auntie) was going to visit Grammie & Grandad and going to a Wedding Dress Party so she was looking all sad..and they couldn't resist. :-D
This is her first time away from home without Mom and/or Dad! I feel so privileged, especially as it was her own idea!!
First of all is Howard Dean.

A lot of my own career looks the same way. A plan there never was. I just seemed to fall into things.
ReplyDeleteCat--I rattled on in response to your post of 3:33:33 on the previous thread.

I'm glad it's going to be a pretty day tomorrow because it's
my future daughter-in-law's Wedding Dress Party!
Plus! Daughter is coming over from ME tonight
and we're going to attend together. :-)
I sent you a really sweet little Ally update, puddle.
ReplyDeleteIt's got a little bit of awesome news
that really humbles a person with perspective.

ReplyDeleteThanks, listener. The all white one is Miss Bianca (Binky). The one with brown ears is Esme.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that pretty much how life is, whether you're an actor or a writer or whatever?
