  2. Been absent--plenty busy. The bus route Naomi has been taking to and from work will be discontinued in a few weeks and there is no reasonable and reasonably reliable alternative bus or train. So the timetable for getting her first car is being moved up by two or three months. She has arranged for driving lessons (she has had a driver's license since she was a high school senior, but only used it for identification and definitely needs lessons behind the wheel). Looking at a small Honda--Fit or Civic. We will go up next weekend (not this weekend--I must work) and help her out. Stress city!

  3. Bright and cold. Freeze warning tonight, and then following, a warm week.

  7. Thanks, puddle and Cat.

Everyone here is still alive, and Demetrius and I are still married.

Hopefully I can manage to sound a tad more upbeat than that before too long.

  10. I know it's not that cold for the rest of you, but it's 36 degrees here, and a freeze warning's up. Think we'll get it, too. BRRRRRRRRRRRR!

  11. Here it's currently 42 and "feels like" 36. The page doesn't want to load, so I can't see the forecast low, but a frost warning wouldn't surprise me. It's been cold and raw all day.

    Stay snug and safe, Puddle.

  12. Ah, got it.

It will turn out to be a chilly start to the weekend, but it will begin to warm up a bit over the longer haul. Tonight's full moon will be blotted out at times by some passing clouds and readings will drop into the upper 20's and lower 30's by dawn. Tomorrow looks to be a nicer day with highs climbing into the upper 50's to around 60 degrees. It will begin to turn milder late Sunday and into the first part of next week, as highs pass 70 on Tuesday and Wednesday. Scattered showers will be back in the picture by mid week and the atmosphere gets a bit unstable before it dries off again late in the week.
