Well, I was kind of AWOL yesterday. Thanks for posting the Ally update, puddle. I may be kind of AWOL again today. Just trying to keep my head above water; with Hubby sick I'm doing all the shopping, cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc., not to mention some of the worrying and looking online for what the heck this is. Even Nurse Teri said she has no idear. I'm leaning more toward it being a Lyme or West Nile thing. Stay tuned.
I just spent an hour and a half doing something t hat should have taken even me only twenty minutes. I *HATE* my computer! Maybe if I had a computer that actually worked, my feeling might be different. But, with thins as they are, I am not a happy camper.
I sympathize with frustration when computers don't work as they should. Even the minor internet flakiness I've experienced the last few weeks can be irritating. I want my internet access NOW! :)
I sent a LTE in behalf of VT Gubernatorial candidate Doug Racine last night, and watched a debate the candidates had (in a lousy format!). There's another debate tonight, but I'll be at work.
It's good to have some things I can do from home presently. Had to say no to helping at Racine's campaign HQ this week, and the Primary is in just 12 days!
Warmer today, sunny and windy. Kidlet's out building stuff. Rice pudding for breakfast, country ribs scheduled for dinner. Cripes, this is his last night here. Been sooooooooooo nice having company, and we've been doing more talking than usual. Got a virtual tour of Nairobi, and pics. Darling little critter I'd never heard of: Rock Hyrax ( http://www.outtoafrica.nl/animals/enghyrax.html?zenden=2&subsoort_id=4&bestemming_id=1 ) Great deal of fun being had here and now.
AND I got Microsoft Office installed (for the Microsoft Picture Manager, which is one of the few things that Gates gave me that I *love*), and the trial version of JASC Paintshop Pro . . . . Which I plan to let go "dead" because I love the stripped version -- just enough to crop and do red eye, and it keeps multiple copies up at the same time so you can compare. The picture manager is terrific for color, saturation, contrast, etc. Plus you make "temporary" resizes to fit blogs, emails, etc., so I can send stuff without a four hour process. I'm back in the image/camera bidness, yay!!
Hot (currently 88 deg) but less humid today. Lunch on the porch was very pleasant -- there's a reason 19th-century houses have these big wrap-around porches. Chilled corn soup was very pleasant in this weather. And it was even light on sodium!
I do, too. Been paralyzed for the past two months without it. But I only use the most very basic. It had gone dormant by the time I discovered it on the old machine, lol! I tried downloading Irfanview, but man: the learning curve was too steep for me. Kinda like Opera, lol!

Cat, thanks for gracing that renegade thread with Howard's presence! I reset it as tomorrow's thread, where it was originally intended. Feel free to get Firsties again! ;-)
