The Vermont Recount 2010: Gubernatorial Race

Here are four of the five Democratic candidates for Governor:
Susan Bartlett, Doug Racine, Peter Shumlin, Deb Markowitz. Matt Dunne could not be present at this event. But all five are united and have been amiably campaigning together against the Republican challenger, while the very close election results are recounted. The presumptive nominee is Peter Shumlin. 1/4 of one percent behind him in votes (192 votes) is Doug Racine. To win, a simple majority is all that is required. I remain hopeful that Doug will turn out to have the most votes. I'd cross my fingers and toes, but that could make the counting go slower. I'll be helping to recount the vote in Chittenden County. Send us your best vibes!!

Batten down the hatches, New England!

To keep tabs on the Atlantic, go to: http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

It's going to be a fascinating week with two more hurricanes coming up the eastern seaboard!
Will (soon-to-be) Hurricane Fiona catch up to Hurricane Earl? If so, they would move counterclockwise around one another! Wild!

There's currently a 25% chance that Hurricane Earl will make U.S. landfall..."The most likely landfall location, were Earl to hit the U.S., would be Cape Cod, Massachusetts."

Happy Sunday!

Full Moonlight in Vermont for the Primary

..seems to contribute to the mystique of the event, which saw Vermont's closest primary race in history.

Vermont has a Cliffhanger still going on!

Here are my photos
from the party at the Hilton with Doug Racine. Doug was in the room with us the entire evening. Two of the five candidates, Doug Racine and Peter Shumlin, are neck and neck with about 26 more towns to report in. We now won't know until sometime on Wednesday who got the most votes. There will most likely be a recount. What an exciting, sweetly tense night! Stay tuned! Or better yet, see the results yourself, town by town. (My town, Jericho, went for Doug Racine! Hurrah!)
