I was just looking at the top diary over at Firedoglake. The writer said that the Deepwater explosion was described in the same "nothing to see here, move along" manner that they're using to describe this explosion.
The *official* temp is taken about 20 miles from where I live, and is usually about 10º higher than on my front porch. . . . It's 79º as I type. And sunny.
Elmer's taken a break to go find and install a part for someone. Promises to show up again later. And tomorrow.
I've accepted that that garden is a total loss. Doubt I'll even be able to retrieve the stones from the terracing. Maybe I should just ask that he put some of the new dirt from the river on top of it and go from there?
Oh shoot! I managed to inadvertently delete my earlier post about the oil platform explosion. And I have to leave for work, so can't recreate it. If anyone still has it open, feel free to cut, paste and repost. Thanks!
Here's the sorry latest: "The Coast Guard is saying that a mile-long oil sheen is spreading from the site off an offshore petroleum platform that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_gulf_rig_explosion
Pretty photo, listener. It reminds me strongly of a locale in one of my stories. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Howard's first, of course.
Glad you like it, Cat! :-)

This "update" relates to my earlier post about the new oil rig explosion off the La. coast...which I managed to delete by mistake! More below.
ReplyDeleteNope. The news pipeline is pretty much set up so that only disasters get through. So no news is *good* news. Thanks for the prayers! ♥
