Robin update... The 4th egg hasn't hatched and it's day 15, so I suspect that one wasn't fertile. Which is fine. The upsetting news is that one of the 3 hatched chicks has gone missing! It happened yesterday between 2 and 5 pm, while we were at the vet. The chicks are still way too young to have begun fledging, so it may have been a predator. We are sad and hope the predator doesn't return...!
In the past, all the nests made in a wreath on that porch failed due to predation. Sigh. We may need to stop putting up wreaths.
