Home from the vet. Spinnaker has early stage kidney disease and there is suspicion of cancer (due to creatinine level), so we have a referral to a specialist. Came home with special diet and med and subcutaneous fluid bag for Spinnaker. Got home and found that Mizzen had barfed up some liquid, and when I wiped it up, it was pale pink. !!! Just feeling really frazzled at the moment.
Ah, nordy, then you understand. Spinnaker despises medication!! If it helps, there's a place you can get meds made into a transdermal form of the medication, which is simply applied topically to the ear! You have to wear a glove so YOU don't get the med.

Oregonlive is reporting that a controversial federal plan to kill nearly half a million barred owls along the West Coast is now in a judge’s hands after a key hearing last week in Portland, but an animal rights lawyer says the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service apparently has already started in some areas.
Friends of Animals attorney Jennifer Best said the government “has indicated that it is moving forward” with the killing.
“Because there is not currently a court order in place to stop the killing of barred owls, the government may continue to kill them while we wait for a decision,” Best said this week.
Court records don’t specify where or when any owls have been removed so far, she said.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service declined to comment because the issue involves “active or pending litigation,” according to an emailed statement.
The federal government has argued that barred owl removal is needed to prevent the rapidly declining spotted owls from going extinct and to protect countless other species that barred owls prey on, including salamanders, flying squirrels and wood rats. -- nordy
That is so sad! Barred Owls are my favourite!! Send them to my house and they can have all the mice under our bird feeders! Send them to NYC to take care of the rat population.
