The number of beached dead gray whales has reached 33 of the Washington coast this year according to NPR Seattle station KUOW. Seattle TV station KIRO reports that the total number on the west coast has reached 51. The whales are showing signs of starvation and many show signs of blunt force impact, evidently from boat strikes. -- nordy
