  1. Hi listener. I already have your email addy. I know cause I've emailed you. Mine is nordstrom dc1 at gee mail dot com. If I am well enough to spend three hours yesterday walking around the flower and garden show, I guess I am well. -- nordy

    1. Ah, it's probably on my old computer! I did search for you on my more recent computer, but it had been too long.
      Making a note!! 💖

  2. Yes, thank you one and all. I am deeply touched by your concern. What happened was I got an infection. Or to hell with the Nellie talk, I had a UTI. That was not the only problem, however. Sometimes when old people get infections it affects their thinking. That happened to me -- by the time I got to the ER I was totally confused. They asked me what year it was and I said 1926. So I spent the next five days getting over the UTI and getting my marbles back. -- nordy

    1. Sounds like a scary experience. I'm glad you're better and back in 2026....although these days that's not such a great place to be either! Susan

    2. Gosh, I dunno, 1926 for 2026 isn't *that* concerning. We said "19..." most of our lives! But I'm sure it was unsettling, and very good that the medical folks took it seriously and got you well. I envy that garden walk...! 🌺

    4. UTI can really do a number on you, both body and mind. Glad you're feeling better. Though, as Susan said, 2026 isn't such a hot place to be.

  3. I hear Turner Classics is programming Gaslight opposite the State of the Union. It's kind of a pity Trump is too stupid to grasp the significance of that.

  4. Come to find out, Dad's consultation is Wednesday of next week. He doesn't seem concerned about the growth, though I am.

    1. Since it's early stage, and there's so much they can do these days, he's probably right to not be extremely worried. My brother has had several malignant tumors on his head over the years. It always has gone well. Hoping the same for your Dad.

  5. So, is anyone here planning to watch the State of the Union Address? We are not. And we're in good company. Heather Cox Richardson says she never watches speeches live. Instead, she tapes them and watches when she can fast forward parts. And I imagine reading the text is less stressful.

    1. Er, well, in the case of Trump reading the text is probably just as infuriating. But at least you don't have to listen to that voice.

I finished, proofread and submitted my quiz on Persiles and Sigismunda, an enjoyable and satisfying way to spend the evening.
