Wil and I protested with a bunch of others on Valentine’s Day. Love helps you stand up. There were some great signs…like red heart shaped signs that simply had a word or two in silver: “THE CONSTITUTION”; “DEMOCRACY”; “HONESTY”; “PEACE”. Another sign read: “YOUNG VOTERS, YOU CAN BE AMERICA’S HEROS” and one read “REBELLIONS ARE BUILT ON HOPE.” A veteran brought his drum and encouraged people to sing everything from Yellow Submarine to the This Land is Your Land. Lots of honking and only one meek thumbs down from passing motorists.
