Wil and I were both super tired, but took the day slow. Dead-headed the roses, got a little garden watering done, found a big bunch of white puffball mushrooms where they oughtn't be. And we took a couple of neighbour kids for ice cream cones, since one of them shares a birthday with me.
I am not afraid of any of these people. I will not be afraid of these people. The whole fetid lot of liars, weirdos, loons, militias, religious nuts, fascists and conspiracy theorists, all of them, need to understand something.
The rest of us are holding the line and we aren't taking one more effing step backwards to accommodate this insanity, not one.
The exhausted majority is what I'm part of. It's got Republicans, Democrats, Independents, new voters and new citizens. It's made up of people of all faiths, creeds, religions and no religion at all. It is a common sense bond and we are sick of the BS, and will not allow a belligerent minority to hijack our country, our families, our kids, our faiths, our communities, our unity, our liberty, our bodies and our future. Never. Susan
Here's a twist: Axios is reporting that Tyler Robinson may have shot Kirk because Kirk's hateful message was distressing to his, Robinson's, trans-gender roommate.
I've also seen two reports that Robinson is not cooperating with authorities. Make of that what you will.
Workers commenting on Kirk’s death learn the limits of free speech in and out of their jobs AP: In the days following the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, numerous workers have been fired for their comments on his death, among them MSNBC political analyst Matthew Dowd.
Several conservative activists have sought to identify social media users whose posts about Kirk they viewed as offensive or celebratory, targeting everyone from journalists to teachers. In the U.S., laws can vary across states, but overall, there’s very little legal protections for employees who are punished for speech made both in and out of private workplaces. -- nordy
On Trump’s hand, it’s not just the bruise. It’s the (apparent) coverup.
Wapo: When visible, like during an Aug. 25 meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung in the Oval Office, the bruise is a mottled purple shade. When there seems to be makeup on the hand, it often appears as a wan beige that does not match his skin tone, creating a blemish of another kind. In politics, there’s a saying: It’s not the crime, it’s the cover-up. -- nordy
It feels like the kids who flunked out of history class are in charge of the country, with one or two super cruel and intellectual people overseeing them. Note that I used the word "Intellectual" not "intelligent." Intellect is just IQ. Intelligence includes a compassionate heart. The former is super dangeous.
I hope everyone's having a peaceful Sunday.

DeleteYES. We can hardly recognise our country with this cruel group in charge.

ReplyDeleteI can hardly grasp how very far Marco Rubio has fallen. He was never great, but now he's in the abyss. Susan
