Tonight I heard from both Alan and his daughter Naomi about his recent adventure in hospital for 8 days. Alan has given me permission to share the story.
I'm home at last after 8 days in the hospital after being diagnosed with pneumonia and PMR.

PMR (Polymyalgia rheumatica) is an inflammatory disorder causing muscle pain and stiffness around the shoulders, neck and hips.
(From Naomi: Thank you for the reply, dad just settled in after coming home from the hospital about an hour or 2 ago and asked me to grab his laptop so he could tell the good news. He'll find this sooner or later- but let me tell you, he's playing down the ordeal he was in/couldn't remember that night- he had a fever of 103, shook like a leaf, and could barely breathe with the constant coughing fit- I rushed him to the ER where they rushed him into the back immediately. He has been slowly on the mend since and is now at home- but still hooked up to oxygen for at least 3 full days- probably more like a week or 2 and then scaling back as necessary. His days at home he will probably find a bit boring so i'm sure he'll resume his online activities sooner rather than later. Thanks again for the kind words and being a friend to him. sincerely, Naomi)
Alan here. You may share the basics of the story with the blog; nothing embarrassing about pneumonia that I can see. I had intended that you should share; forgot about your sensitivity to doing so. I was very hesitant to go to the ER, but a temperature of 103F accompanied by severe trembling proved compelling. Coming right after that other weird constellation of symptoms [PMR] I had made it doubly curious. Non-productive cough, and yes, I am probably downplaying it. Probably scared the heck out of my family. ----Alan
Sooo, two of our younger grands were with us for a few days. They had flu last week, but seemed to be over it. Well, on the second day here, youngest grand got a fever of 102ºF and it went back up a second time. So Daughter met us at the NH border and took them home last night. We have postponed Wil's 70th birthday party from tonight until next Friday. We are fine so far, but chose an abundance of caution incase we're about to come down with it. Sure hope not, because Wil's actual birthday is Tuesday and we'd rather celebrate than spend it sick! Ha! Wish us luck! 🤞
White House has pushed forward with “delegitimizing” the independent judiciary, and there’s overwhelming evidence to bolster the point.
Donald Trump, for example, wrote last month, “Radical Left Judges could very well lead to the destruction of our Country! These people are Lunatics, who do not care, even a little bit, about the repercussions from their very dangerous and incorrect Decisions and Rulings. ... The danger is unparalleled!”
[As Willy Wonka would say, "Pause that. Reverse it.]
Around the same time, the president — who recently wrote that American courts are “broken,” “rigged” and guilty of “corruption” — also used his platform to amplify an item from a right-wing blog that read in part, “When judges exceed their constitutional authority by obstructing or overturning executive actions without legitimate constitutional grounds, they not only overstep their role but may also commit acts tantamount to treason and sedition.”
Alan is first! 😊👍

Seems to me anything that keeps you in hospital for 8 days is highly significant! So happy to have you back among us, Alan!! Rest all you need.
