So, did everybody watch as President Biden addressed the nation today from the Oval Office for the first time?
I heard about it on the radio while running errands early afternoon. Then totally forgot to watch! We were outside pulling weeds and watering the gardens.
However, CSPAN has it on their website and we're about to watch it after all.
Our mail lady is new, but has injured herself three times in the two months she’s been on the job, needing time out of work. After waiting several days for mail, today our mail lady was back and mail was again delivered … sort of.
In our box we found mail for neighbours up the road. In our duplex neighbour’s box (she’s 91, so I bring it to her) was mail for yet another neighbour and 2 packages for us. We delivered mail to the appropriate mailboxes…which we found empty, and had no idea where our mail may have ended up.
We’ve been thinking we may need to get a Post Office Box. It's inconvenient, but better than having mail go astray altogether, especially as with our small business we get checks. Also, we don’t anticipate delivery getting better anytime soon, given what we read today in VT Public: Vermont rural mail carriers may get less pay for same or longer routes with new USPS system
Anyway, I went over to the Post Office and spoke with our (new this past month) postmistress. She said that while our mail lady was out they had someone from a nearby post office sort the mail. Being back today, she called in to the PO to say things were badly out of order as she did her route, and she would be bringing some of the mail back with her, as a result.
Our postmistress offered to hold our mail tomorrow and let us pick it up before they close at 11:00am. So that’s what we’ll do.
Our area was well out in the countryside when it was built, so is a contract route rather than a regular Postal Service route and not as reliable. But we haven't had significant problems for quite a while. ---Alan

I don't do TV
DeleteI bet NPR carried it.
DeleteHow is mail delivery where you live?

Bottom line: DeJoy has got to go!!

But I agree DeJoy should go--he has from the beginning had obvious conflicts of interest.
