I suspect he's returning early because he knows the Proud Babies intend a disruption. Also because at least one Republic Senator (?) will object to Pence certifying the Presidency for Pence. I would not want to be in D.C. on 1/6.
I should not post in the middle of the night! That should be "Republican Senator and object to certifying the Presidency for Biden. Ah, sleep deprivation. Just one of the many problems it causes.
I must be sleep deprived or distracted too, Susan, because I read it exactly as you meant it, and never saw the issue until you mentioned it. We're a pair, eh?! 😂
Hallo from my Safari browser! I was able to determine that Blogger wasn't the problem, it was Gmail. When I signed out of Gmail and back in again, I was in as an Admin again AND a blogger here.
However, the same maneuver doesn't work on my iPhone. So this limits me, in that I can ONLY come here to blog via computer, never by iPhone, though I can read the blog from my iPhone. And I can even tend the front page with my iPhone (go figure!). But I can't delete posts and can't even post as Anonymous from my iPhone.
So, it's limiting, but won't kill the blog. I was getting concerned because 3 of my 4 avenues were broken and the one left (Chrome browser) tends to overheat my old computer. I was hoping to figure this out before firing up my MacBook Air (beginning today but this could take days). The great unknown. Just didn't want to lose all inroads, y'know? I was even considering having Renee make Alan an Admin in case of emergencies. You'd need a Gmail account for that, Alan. When Renee set all of this up, she gave us Admins special Gmail accounts that don't use our own email addresses and names. But apparently Gmail doesn't permit that anymore. Going forward we'd need to use real names and email addresses for that, but then I'd be posting as my actual name instead of my blog name.
If he were a Russian agent and he or his handlers were at all smart he would not have attacked China in a way that strengthened that country's standing in the world.
You may both be right. He may not know he's a Russian operative, yet still be played by Putin. Of course, a bubbling idiot can sow all the chaos you might wish for, but also be a little bit of a wild card. C'est la vie. It's kind of like Martin Short in Pure Luck, only without good intent, so the L is an F.
Well, it is. More and more Republicans are coming right out and saying on CNN that he is increasingly irrelevant. That's gotta hurt. And then with Melania screwing up Mara Lago, ya know? It's just a really hard time for him. My heart just bleeds. (NOT)
whew. Thinking about 2020, and I have to admire us in that we both impeached the bugger AND unelected him. That's gotta be something to celebrate and be enormously proud of.
Our care aid, Jessalee, told Sis rather smugly she has no intention of getting the vaccine. I said she'd better tell Dad about that conversation: It isn't ratting, it's information he needs to know. She muttered something noncommittal. Pretty sure she hasn't mentioned it to him. But I mean, what the hell? The woman works in a house with two people over eighty. Even if she doesn't care enough to do it for herself, wouldn't you think she'd have the common decency to do it for the sake of her patient and employer?
For the life of me I don't know how I ever set any of this up. It *does* appear that there are some accounts marked as "admin" that are linked to a non-gmail address.
I just tried to do a test comment from my phone as "anonymous", but it got changed to my name.
I'm a little nervous that next year is called 2020 Won, and the year after is 2020 Too. I might need to see some terms and conditions before I agree to the new year.
I shouldn't be surprised at how my inbox is being flooded with emails today. 230 by 10:30 pm. Not only pols but charities proclaiming the midnight deadline. Must be at least half a dozen from Friends of the Earth, who I haven't supported for years if ever.
Good News! Renee is going to see what she can figure out tomorrow. She did attempt tonight, but it's been awhile...!
ReplyDeleteWe'll punt as needed. At worst, I think she could make me a new admin account, maybe.
Fingers crossed--still no reports of anyone being killed by murder hornets. . .
ReplyDeleteTrump Will Return to White House Early [Click] Why bother?
ReplyDeleteThis probably explains it:
Because he’s upset by Melania’s redecoration of the family residence. [Click] He is also reported to have been upset by her “improvements” to the decor at Camp David.

DeleteThursday is the deadline for bids for drilling rights in the Arctic Narional Wildlife Refuge—and it may well be that no oil companies will bid. [Click] “. . .there is little indication that oil companies are interested in buying the rights to drill under difficult conditions, to extract more costly fossil fuels for a world that increasingly is seeking to wean itself off them.” Alaska’s state economic development corporation might bid.
ReplyDeleteThat would warm my cockles, all right.
On Jan. 20th, Biden to issue memo freezing Trump administration's midnight regulations that have not yet taken effect. [Click] Given the general disorganization and incompetence of the Trump administration, I suppose there might be quite a few of those.

Ah, technology.
Strange--but maybe it will fix itself. I seem to recall that a lot of people were having transient problems with gmail.
DeleteI had problems with Google for a while, mainly on my iPhone, but it sorted itself out as mysteriously as it appeared.
