You’ll really want to read this article. Congress has completely let us down by keeping this incompetent man in office until we throw him out ourselves. DT’s path of destruction is obvious and yet he marches on.
There is certainly also a very serious failure in the UK diplomatic service that has made it extraordinarily difficult for the foreign office's work to be done effectively. The person or persons who had access to the cables and leaked them for obviously domestic political effect has done great damage and must be rooted out.
From the coverage I've seen on the BBC, it looked like the instantaneous effect of Sir Kim's resignation was near total unanimity in support of him and condemnation of Trump. I do agree that the leaker did Sir Kim himself a great injury. I'm not sure how far beyond him it goes, though, towards making it impossible for the Foreign Office as a whole to do its job.
Secondarily, Boris Johnson's response was what one might expect, drawing pretty much universal ire. At least one politician, a fellow Tory IIRC implied strongly that Johnsom himself was in no small part responsible for Sir Kim feeling it necessary to resign, adding one more negative against him. I find myself wondering if the voting members of the Conservative Party are as brainlessly loyal to Johnson as Trump's base is to him, or if eventually Johnson will take that final step that is too far. His negatives seem pretty overwhelming to me as it is. But then, I'm not a Conservative.
Adults would do best to stop teaching altogether and simply put the resources in front of the children. Read to them a lot. Take them on nature walks and field trips and give them art materials. Then get out of the way.
That's quite a list, something of a badge of honor. BTW I think Bernie should invoke and quote FDR a whole lot more. If nothing else, it would p!ss off New Democrats and maybe remind ordinary folks what the Democratic Party is supposed to be about.
