  2. Take note of Sen. Lindsey Graham's Rhetoric. I’m beginning to think he’s going to run for President in 2020. If I can find the clip that made me think so, I’ll post it.

    1. Here it is. It’s his remarks about the Saudi Crown Prince killing journalist
      Jamal Khashoggi.

This, plus his ridiculous explosion during The Hearing, make me think he’s trying to set himself up as the hero figure.

  3. listener--question re tower of Trinity Episcopal Church--does it have a carillon? It sure looks like it ought to; or at least a chime (fewer bells than a carillon)--or have been intended to accommodate one. Certainly an architecturally interesting church, inside and out.

    1. Hi Alan. I do not believe it does. The wide tower with the wide arch beneath it was so that a horse and buggy could drop off people at the front door. Unfortunately, the lower part of the tower is rickety, so no one can drive up there anymore. But folks can still walk in that way. More often, nowadays, they park out back and walk through the modern activity center, wade through a gorgeous old meeting room, down the cloister walk and into the church up beside the chancel where the organ is. There used to be a truly lovely pipe organ, but these days there's just a very nice electric organ.

Republicans Massively Outraised In Election Homestretch
October 16, 2018 at 7:40 pm EDT By Taegan Goddard

“Democratic challengers outraised Republican House incumbents in 92 House districts in the last three months — a staggering mismatch that boosts the odds of a GOP washout in November,” Politico reports.

“There is no historical precedent for financing this broad and deep for congressional challengers. About half of the 92 GOP incumbents are protecting battleground districts, and some of them posted personal-record fundraising totals in the third quarter of 2018 — but they still found themselves swamped by a combination of incandescent online fundraising for Democrats and bigger donors spreading money to challengers around the country, as 61 Democrats raised over $1 million.”

Said one Republican consultant: “We’re getting our asses kicked. Nothing else to say.”

"Juliรกn Castro, the former San Antonio mayor and secretary of Housing and Urban Development, told Rolling Stone that he’s probably going to run for president." I suppose he's a perfectly nice fellow, but I shouldn't expect he would get very far.

Oh, and several of the evident assassins of Jamal Khashoggi are members of Crwon Prince Mohammed bin Salman's security detail (per NY Times)

    1. As to that last note...
But since our President has business dealings in Saudi Arabia that he cannot jeopardize, the best interests of America can take a back seat.
