74 Wildfires Burning in Western States...!!!

That photo is just a sweet bonfire by the lake.  The fires in the west are not so pretty!  Have a look:

  1. I haven't exactly seen such fires up close and personal, but the smoke? Oh, yes. I was at the 2015 World Science Fiction Convention in Spokane, which was declared a national disaster area at precisely that time due to the wildfires and the resulting smoke. Extra shuttles were put on so people wouldn't have to walk to their hotels and nose-mouth coverings were in short supply.

    1. Air quality obviously better today, less smoke and lower temperature. That modified Boeing 747 has been put to work here dumping fire retardant. Six fires burning in the nearby mountains. No hurricanes, though.

  2. Hookworm still rampant in Alabama--and where else? [Click] And what other kinds of parasitic diseases? It sounds like they only tested for hookworm, but multiple simultaneous gastrointestinal parasitic infections are the general rule.

  4. http://eliotdaley.com/why-donald-trump-lies-so-much/

The article actually does go into the "why", but this is what I'm clipping from the article: "Donald Trump is a small, insecure person living out a never-ending frenzy of narcissistic self-aggrandizement wherein his addiction to lying is the principal feature. It is pathetic to all who observe it except—and this is critical—those “co-dependents” who choose to join him in his lying. He doesn’t care that everyone on earth knows his oft-repeated lie about General Pershing and pig-blood bullets is a total piece of BS. Like any addict, he’ll repeat it because it’s part of his life-lie and because there are some equally self-deceiving followers who are willing to swallow it and, in the swallowing, feel a surge of nourishment for their free-range hatred."

Early report of hurricane damage on St. Martin.[Click] Flooding, deaths, roofs torn off, strongest buildings on the island damaged, fire station knocked out, power and communications out, etc.

  6. I just heard that they had to reroute the Pope's plane today because of Hurricane Irma. That's one hell of a storm!

  7. I don't think his followers are self deceiving--I think they're just boxofrocks stupid.

  8. Robert Reich neatly encapsulated trump's "presidency" yesterday calling it "a presidency defined by needless destruction and blind hatred."

And, puddle, I agree with you. They are so unaware I've seen them wonder why President Obama didn't do more about 9/11 and Katrina!
