It seems to me that firing Comey just before he testifies under oath to Congress (I presume that is still on) might just qualify as A BAD IDEA.
I think we saw our first humming bird of the year about a week or ten days ago. It amazes me that some hummingbirds migrate across the Gulf of Mexico.
The Japanese word for hummingbirds is literally "bee birds." They do sound like bumblebees, certainly.
Re faster Internet service (good luck!) causing it to go flooey for a while rather like road improvements--first they have to make the road nearly (or even actually) impassable?
listener--e-mail coming your way in a few minutes.

P.S.: Last night we had a bobcat (presumably the same one we had seen outside the fence a couple of times) in our backyard. At the same time as the two house cats that have moved in with us. The bobcat did not seem to regard the house cats as food. They all just looked at one another. A bit of noise from us and the bobcat left--but not in a hurry.
From the Articles of Impeachment adopted by House Judiciary Committee on July 27, 1974:
Richard M. Nixon, using the powers of his high office, engaged personally and through his close subordinates and agents, in a course of conduct or plan designed to delay, impede, and obstruct the investigation of such illegal entry; to cover up, conceal and protect those responsible; and to conceal the existence and scope of other unlawful covert activities.
The means used to implement this course of conduct or plan included one or more of the following… interfering or endeavouring to interfere with the conduct of investigations by the Department of Justice of the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the office of Watergate Special Prosecution Force, and Congressional Committees.”
We have the tin-pot leader whose vanity knows no bounds. We have the rapacious family feathering their nests without regard for the law or common decency. We have utter disregard for values at home and abroad, the disdain for democracy, the hunger for constraining a free press, the admiration for thugs and strongmen worldwide.
We have all the makings of a banana republic. But worse, we are showing the telltale signs of a failing state. Our government has ceased to function. Party politics and gross self-interest has rendered the majority party oblivious to its responsibilities to its constituents and the Constitution of the United States. On a daily basis, Republicans watch their leader violate not only the traditions and standards of the high office he occupies, but through inaction they enable him to personally profit from the presidency, promote policies that benefit his cronies and his class to the detriment of the majority of the American people, and serially attack the principles on which the country was founded — from freedom of religion to the separation of powers.
Oh my goodness, I worked so hard today!! First I did battle with my computer and printer and finally made 6 Mother's Day cards to mail. Then I got some flower seed packets to put in them and got them to the post office just before noon.
I then spent the better part of four hours cutting Poplars and other unwelcome plants out of the area behind the berm on our land, then planted Pansies, Iris, Dusty Miller and Alyssum. By this point Green Mountain Compost had delivered 5 yards of topsoil and compost and it was time to move it from it's massive pile to where it is needed. Didn't come in for dinner until 8:30pm!!
More soil to move tomorrow, but it's looking good! But, oh, I am going to need Advil. Ha!
I'm here...been busy with other things.
