I had a relatively fun day, with two Grands and even got to have an ice cream cone with them. Then I needed to send a book (of Rilke's poetry) to my former spirit guide, who had a heart attack on Saturday. Then I chose and sent a gift to my grand nephew, who turns one year old this week. Good family conversation tonight.
You just have to wonder if there's any link in noting that Garry Marshall died the day Dump Truck was officially nominated. Nearly did in a lot of people, I dare say. RIP Garry! Thanks so much for the laughs!
Today was OK at work, a little slow for a Wednesday, but we are shorter-staffed than usual, so it was about right. I had a nice thank-you call from one of the attorneys who called me up to Eureka (Bigfoot country) for court this Friday past, and tonight I have an opinion to write for a public defender in San Diego. Social Security kicks in September 30th, and that is going to replace Job No. 2 (the rural hospital job, 32 hours straight--plus a long commute--every other weekend). That is going to be a significant quality of life improvement, for both of us.
Yay for Bernie! And here's a little light reading to perk up your day:

Have spent the day listening to music and avoiding political discourse. Sadly, don't feel noticeably better for it.
