Thinking of the Politico.com piece linked above, who might they find to take one for The Family, as it were? And what might they offer by way of compensation? Ah, the dreams...
I don't really expect a third-party run by an establishment Republican. But combining that idea with the suggestion of an independent run by Bernie (which I also don't expect) gives me very much an 1948 deja vu. (The article doesn't mention the 1948 Progressive Party campaign by former VP Henry Wallace.)
Record-breaking warmth for late-December standards will grip much of the central and eastern states Christmas week, continuing what has already been a very mild month in those regions. Several cities in the East will likely see their warmest Christmas Eve or Christmas Day on record, adding to the more than 2,600 daily record high temperatures that have been tied or broken across the Lower 48 in the first 19 days of the month. This mild forecast means the prospect for a white Christmas is highly unlikely for many east of the Rockies.
Yep. El Nino at work. Sigh. We LOVE snow here, as you know, and dislike the darkness of this time of year without the brightening aspect of snow-laden fields. But since we have to deal with the warmth anyway, and given that there's a full moon on Christmas Day, we are excited to be able to stand outside in the relative warmth with our Grands and show them the moon and sky with their new telescope!
Howard is better even than Gingersnap Spice Cake!
