Interestingly in view of the piece I saw last night on the MSNBC web site quoting unnamed US "experts" proclaiming that the Paris attacks were clearly not the work of ISIS, this afternoon the BBC reports that ISIS has claimed responsibility. Gee, whadaya know?
Snark aside, the BBC also reports one of the hostage taking attackers at the Rock concert as having told a hostage it was all the French president's fault for having gone into Syria. *gulp* Aunty Beeb says attacks on Europe are inevitable and France is particularly vulnerable due to its (till now) open boarders. Terribly frightening! I mean, the animals attacked a Rock concert, a soccer match, bars and restaurants, all civilian targets. I am not anti-Muslim, but I am absolutely anti cowardly, unmanly, subhuman creatures - whatever their religion, nationality or ethnicity - that deliberately harm innocent civilians. I hope the French find whoever planned this attack and put them away for the rest of their natural and miserable lives!
It's cold here today, with highs only in the mid 40s. And though it was sunny, that didn't help my frame of mind. Been having a bad few days. Guess that happens sometimes. Started taking my evening primrose oil again. Must get some more and some St. John's wert. Gotta nip this, whatever it is, in the bud. I do not need nervous breakdowns, anxiety attacks or any other such nonsense!
Been looking into full spectrum light bulbs, since I'm down to my last two incandescent. Don't have much hope of finding something comfortable. The LED and compact florescents I've been using really don't cut the mustard. One compact florescent burned out, which is what prompted my search. It's gonna be awful when my last incandescent goes. Of all the cockeyed laws to make...! Just another thing to inconvenience and annoy ordinary people and induce high blood pressure! And, you know, for years studies have been showing that fluorescent light is bad for both physical and mental health. And those compact ones contain mercury... The whole thing's a crock. Stands to reason we have a Republican to blame for it, and a Bush to boot!
I recall folks were/are going to Canada to get the old 3-4 gallon flush toilets. Wonder if they have incandescent light bulbs still? then there is eBay.

P.S.: And I should restart my evening hot chocolate...thanks for the jog.
T'is hot chocolate season to be sure. And thanks for the reminder of eBay. Not sure of the logistics of looking for Canadian light bulbs, but shall look into it.
Pardon the typos; I seem to be more tired today than I think I ought to, but it has been a demanding past week. Or two. Well, one more year and I can cut back some more at work-I am hoping for two weekends out of three off. Things look a little less worrisome at my primary job, but I will keep my bolt-hole at the hospital.
I haven't started my formal penmanship drills yet, but maybe tomorrow. Even without that my handwriting has improved just by thinking about it and paying attention. I have, I think, decided how I wish to form each letter of the alphabet; it is a bit of a hodgepodge, but not far from Palmer Method. Once my handwriting satisfies me, I will feel I have earned the two good fountain pens I purchased, and will commence using them. For now, I have settled on a type of inexpensive fountain pen (designed to be disposable but actually refillable) that writes well on the papers I must use at work. Using a fountain pen has given me a bit of relief in my right hand, which was already much better because of exercises; every little bit helps.
Paris is First, and I'm sure Howard would agree.
ReplyDelete…and Beirut…and Syria…and on and on.
