Vermillion

  1. Here for Howard, even as Autumn impends.

Highs mid-70ish, lows mid-50ish here; it was a bit warmer, and will be in another two or three days. Clear sky, nice stars; I just now (11:30 PM) stepped outside in summer pajamas and was not uncomfortable.

I completed and sent off a declaration I had promised for this weekend but avoided, probably because of a subliminal hunch it was going to be somewhat demanding, and it was; but cogitating about it resulted in a good job, I think.

Monday is parliamentary election day in Canada; here's hoping for a good result for our northern neighbors. No one trusts the polls, given their performance in several recent elections, but they don't look bad. (Minority Liberal government with New Democratic Party cooperation, perhaps.)

  2. It was 17F this morning, and I drove to NH for a meeting. I just got in the car and found...a mosquito! LOL!

    1. Gee--Global warming if ever I saw evidence of it; 17 degrees F is now obviously much warmer than it used to be!

  3. Wow! The Canadian Liberal Party won an electoral victory for the ages. It looks to have been not merely a defeat of the Conservatives, but a rout of both the Conservatives and the New Democratic Party. As recently as Sunday the pundits and pollsters thought the Liberals *might* gain enough seats to form a minority government, and now the only question is how big a majority they will have. As memory serves me, only two or three weeks ago it looked like a three-way tie. I guess it's up to the Yanks now; PM Trudeau and President Sanders should get on famously, I think.
