listener--a popover and a turnover are two different things; the popover is an American adaptation of Yorkshire pudding. Here is a photo of a good popover:
It is also similar to a dutch baby. Unlike Yorkshire pudding or a dutch baby, it is small (one person can eat two or maybe even three) and stays popped rather than falling if done well. Dandy for breakfast!
On the way to Oakland this morning we saw almonds being harvested; I suspected it was beginning because on the way to work Saturday morning I saw some tree shakers going down the road, and also some trucks of the sort used for transporting nuts.
It's cooling off--below a hundred degrees since yesterday.
On the way back home late this afternoon the Sierra Nevada had disappeared behind smoke from the forest fires.
