An undemanding work-weekend so far. High temperatures are supposed to be in the nineties for some time, which is pleasant here, especially if there is a breeze. (One still must exercise reasonable caution if working in the sun.) Cotton about knee-high, corn maybe half that; nothing else notable in the local ag report. No lettuce or onions to glean this year because of limited water supplies. I am working on Ursula Le Guin’s “Four Ways to Forgiveness.” It’s an interesting group of four interrelated novellas—interesting because of the content and the structure both.
