It looks like the weather is going to clear before this morning's parade. Thinking of my uncle who died in WWII. Thinking of the maple ice cream cone I'm planning to have later. Thinking of the nap I will take after Grand heads home. Sooo tired. Yet my life is good. When I think of all the people and places in the world, their weather and political circumstances, I see how incredibly lucky I am.
What listener said. I wonder if I am experiencing the oft reported increase in (average) happiness among the old. And now to get off my rear end and get to work in the yard. Cutting up prunings, emptying the compost heap, spraying weeds. The weather prediction is for higher temperature this afternoon (99F), but that doesn't seem credible; it was very noticeably cooler this morning than yestermorn. Salmon for dinner, with dry curried rice including home-made raisins.
I see you've made it to 95F before 3pm, Alan. Sure do hope it's bearable for you out there. We had rain this morning and rain now, but in between it lightened up and we had 70F and a dry parade. Nice weekend all around. 64F. The only thing in the 90's here is the humidity.
It was cooler today than yesterday; we worked in the yard from noon to 3PM, then knocked off for the day. At 5PM it was still hot in the sun, but just pretty warm in the shade, with a nice breeze, probably in the low 90's. Pleasant. We didn't use the air conditioner today, but I have had a fan on here in the study/computer room. The official temperature, if I remember correctly, is near the airport, which is warmer than here. The back (north) of our house is about two climate zones cooler than the front (south).
I think I will watch "The Blues Brothers." Then maybe take care of a few odds and ends and hit the sack. I'm sure the drinking drivers have been in cahoots with the minions of the law to make extra work for me this coming week. [grin]
