Yes, listener--I have been to Grace Cathedral in San Francisco, albeit a long time ago. The Ghiberti doors [Click] are the most notable part of the edifice.
Perhaps you've seen recently that the Methodist Church has taken to having trials and tossing out clergy who do same sex weddings. Well, here is a beautifully written perspective from one of their own. I applaud this man's vision, discernment, comprehension and commitment. I admire this man's vision, discernment, comprehension and commitment. http://www.advocatesc.org/home/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1301&Itemid=410
What if MOST of the clergy just went ahead and did same sex weddings? Are the head honchos going to toss out everyone? I imagine that the average person in the pew would not look kindly on paying for all those trials. And in the end, in the Church as in the World, people vote with their pocketbook.
Dean at the end of the Rainbow. ;-)

Very cool, Alan! I would love to see it sometime. I wish I could beam in, instead of having to travel to get there. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhoa! I just clicked and my goodness those are beautiful doors!
DeleteI first learned of Grace Cathedral when Lauren Artress' book about Labyrinths came out.
