    Power outages are last.
Our lights just *FOUB!* cut out ten minutes ago. Cause is yet unknown; just 1418 of us lost the electric. If anyone can see why, please post. Thanks!

  2. Bravely am I sitting here watching my new MacBook Pro transfer information from my Time Machine backup drive. I have never done this myself before. The odds of this going well are about the same as the odds of my MacBook failing just AFTER I made a "150-days-since-last-backup" backup of my data. Oh wait, that actually happened. Fingers crossed...

    1. Backups are GOOD! I do daily backups both to an external hard drive and to something up there in the clouds. Haven't had to use the Restore function, but I expect yours will go well.

    2. Well, I've been partially successful. I can come here and *use Blogger again!!!*, but so far I can't see my email folders or use Word documents because first a bunch of software has to be downloaded. BLAH. Son comes tomorrow night and he can do in minutes what would take me hours. So I'll have to be patient one more day.

  3. Gorgeous, moderate, cool sunny day. Am loving this weather. Loving, loving, loving.

  4. I went out tonight with my sons and bought an iPad. Now I am the least techie person I know, so I may have been suffering delusions of grandeur. We'll see how it goes.

    2. Congrats to you both. Everyone I know who has one loves it (after the breaking in period, lol!)

  5. listener--the Time Machine backup software for Mac is the best I have ever encountered. If one just whacks one's technophobia, it is about as self evident how to use it as I can imagine. The interface is very impressive, too.

Susan--I've experimented with an iPad a few of times--a visitor's, and our daughter's. It's pretty intuitive also, although I am not a fan of the touchscreen input; but if one is accustomed to an iPhone, the iPad input must be pretty easy. I saw an attorney using a small QWERTY keyboard (Bluetooth I suppose) with an iPad that was on a stand so that it was positioned about like a conventional monitor; pretty neat. The iPad is really great for photos; I think you will like it.

I stopped off on the way home this afternoon (Sunday) and gleaned maybe thirty or forty pounds of onions--yellow, red and white. Miyoko has several friends to share with.

    Early to bed tonight--REALLY!

    1. Yes, Alan. I bought the case/stand with the keyboard in it. Touchscreen and I are not friends.

    2. I already used Time Machine, Alan. All my data is on my computer. However, my computer can't yet make use of my data because it doesn't yet have the related software.
