  2. Like to ask for prayers. My daughter in law, the one who just visited, is in ICU with a spinal chord infection. She's in critical condition. Thank you.

      ♥ Prayers ensuing! ♥

I have her whole medical team tucked into my prayers, as well as all loved ones.

    2. Thanks, listener--this is just a tad too close to what happened to Edwin.

  3. Oh my. My most sincere wishes for the best outcome, puddle. They HAVE made considerable progress in treatment in recent years.

  4. I ran across a couple of C. L. Moore stories on Project Gutenberg; it had been a long time, and I had forgotten what a dandy writer she was. So I downloaded collections of her Northwest Smith and Jirel of Joiry stories, plus two written with her husband, Henry Kuttner, under the pseudonym Lewis Padgett: “Mimsy Were the Borogoves” [SUPER!] and “Quest of the Starstone” [Northwest Smith meets Jirel of Joiry--will have to get read up on both of them first].

    1. I remember Moore's "Northwest Smith" stories with great fondness. And then, when the field changed in the 1940s, she wrote stories such as "Vintage Season" that were simply mind-blowing.

I don't believe I ever encountered "Quest of the Starstone," maybe because it wasn't under her name. I'll have to check it out.

  5. Cooler weather here in San Diego today than yesterday (Monday). The humidity makes even modest temperatures more oppressive than they would be otherwise. Now for a shower and to bed; morning comes a bit early.

    1. Thanks, Alan. :-) I had to recall yesterday's photo before I caught what you meant. For a moment I thought you meant the Artic Fox photo. LOL!
