This was not my favourite day. Went to the dentist for a cleaning and to have a chipped tooth repaired. I figured an hour tops. Turned out the chipped tooth revealed my first cavity in a couple decades, so 2.5 hours later, I emerged still numbed up and super hungry. So I went to the supermarket for a healthy snack at the busy commuter hour, and just as I got to the register the check of the woman before me got hopelessly stuck in the register. It took them a few minutes to discover that it wasn't going to be an easy fix. In all the years I have been buying groceries I've never even heard of this happening. So I got to go stand at the end of another line. So now I'm sitting at home with my feet up, grateful for dental insurance and working on not sweating the small stuff. ;-)
listener, I make quantities of quilts for donation. I stick with simple patterns and cute fabrics to maximize the numbers I can finish. Here are a few of my "go to" quilts for littles:
www.quiltville.com On the right of the page scroll down to "Streak of Sunshine". Great pattern. Fast, looks complicated but isn't.
www.azblankets4kids.com Has LOTS of kid patterns. I'm doing "Strip Quilt, Toddler to Teen".
www.maryquilts.com left hand column, scroll down to "Quick Strippie". You can finish it in a day and it always gets rave reviews.
Howard is still first, and that is some really scary driftwood. Looks like a skeletal hand coming out of the water to grab unwary victims.
ReplyDeleteYeah! I thought it looked like a claw. Nice to know my eyesight works properly sometimes.
DeleteOh, I thought it was beautiful, and wondered how much it must have traveled during Irene.
ReplyDeleteThat just shows that my mind goes to much darker places than yours, listener. I doubt that's a good thing for me, but there it is.

I'm gonna go cut out some quilts, but I just had to tell you - it was 65 degrees here today!
ReplyDeleteIt was? Holy smokes!
DeleteI want to hear more about the quilts! What patterns and colours are you playing with?
ReplyDeleteI'll need to make a new baby quilt soon, as the next grandchild is due mid-May!
Funny, Susan, but when I looked at the driftwood photo again, I could see what you mean! LOL!
