No need to send out the Shire Reeve; just busy. About to make time to watch the Perseid meteor shower for a bit. The sky is a little hazy/cloudy, but I saw 2 or 3 within a minute when I checked about 15 minutes ago. Naomi was born on the night of the Perseid shower, and we have made a point of watching it ever since, when we could. Naomi is in Tokyo with a group of coworkers (Chinese-Americans) on vacation, and evidently having a blast.
Alan! Right about he time you went out to watch Perseis, I too was watching! It was a very clear night here and gloriously starry. The meteors did not disappoint!
How lovely that Perseid greeted Naomi's cosmic entrance! ♥
Today is the first Anniversary for Youngest and his Bride. ♥♥ I suspect they watched Perseid from a dark hillside in Vermont.
I've been assigned to teach three sections of that freshman experience class. Sundays at 2, 3, and 4. At least I know that the other school is not open at that time, so I haven't blocked myself from being able to teach any psych courses.
Thanks, Renee...I didn't even know I had a duplicate post!
It sounds hard to teach three classes in the same afternoon. Sorry it's on Sundays. Maybe you can tank up at church on the morning. Hoping some psych classes come your way soon!
Not sure I agree with listener about it being hard to teach trhee classes in the same afternoon. To me it looks convenient to go one day a week and get it over with. (I suppose I'm particularly thinking of the time I taught at a college 30 miles away.)
Well, it would be worse if I was teaching on 3 different days. At least this way it's less spent on gas, so I get to keep a bit more of the money I make.
As far as church, I've had something of a falling out with my rector, and have been looking into different churches in the area. One of the ones I keep meaning to check out has a 5:30 on Sundays. So this schedule leaves me open to make it to that one or to go in the morning.
The astilbe are gorgeous, listner! I've always loved them.
Ya, Renee!!
Another real cold (for August) night again last night -- under fifty, and takes into the afternoon for the house to get comfortable. Still. . . . I'll take it.
The new mouse came today. Somewhat to my surprise, it seems to have solved most of the problems I was having with mouse clicks not doing what I wanted. The exception is a signle wierdness in IE that I now suspect is a program glitch rather than a hardward problem. Not sure it matters enough to bother reinstalling the program.
Just buzzing by where Gov. Dean is first!

Best wishes for getting a psych class or two.

I'm happy you like the photo, puddle.
DeleteI'm a little surprised no one asked why I still be in the back yard. LOL!
