Getting caught up with the blog where Gov. Dean is first!
puddle--re the "Yeah, right" story (which IS a good 'un for sure)--it is my understanding (I'm not going to search Shakespeare to check) that in Elizabethan English (as in some other modern languages), a double negative was an emphatic negative, which usage has persisted in vernacular forms of English to lesser or greater degrees.

Thanks for the kind thoughts, Cat. I got more deep sleep in the slow intervals at the hospital than usual, but afternoons and evenings were pretty darn busy--some because of booby traps left for me by previous workers. Five patients needing transfusions within less than a day, when we might go for a week or two easy between single cases; I was starting to get my groove back. Outside temperature when I got off (4:30 PM) was 109 degrees Fahrenheit --like August, not June.
I found a promising Windows emulator for Mac (CrossOver), gave it a trial run with a program it is not officially certified to work with, and it was just fine:

Crossover: supported versions of Wine for Mac and Linux: http://www.codeweavers.com/
Think I may *finally* have gotten enough sleep. Boy got me up before six, but both of us back to bed by seven. He's about as tarred as me, so it's not age, lol!
Boyz got home fine and in good time and no traffic difficulties, so all's right wit' da world.
A new layer of insulation on part of the kitchen ceiling. Floor's finished, ready for finish. Trash burned, water tank filled, garden enclosure increased, derocked, a water tank installed there, and filled. The memorial garden weeded, and, lol!, I was glad to see my hole filled in. . . . *last fall, Scotty dug a hole for Stevie, and as good measure, one for me. . . .* Lost all of the tomatoes but one up there, so will transplant a few from near the house back up and see. . . .
But today, just resting. Bath later, and town tomorrow.
Sure would like to get enough sleep again. But it's sure rewarding to see the kitties getting more healthy every day. They race through the house and tackle each other! What Mizzen lacks in size and strength, she makes up for in determination. They also have nap attacks together and wash each others' faces! :-D
Went to NH today for my two monthly meetings. Both were stellar!! I presented and got the most enheartening reflections as feedback. Then I met with my spiritual guide and it was like weight lifted off my heart.

ReplyDeleteI, too, enjoy the kitten stories.
DeleteWelcome back, listener! Glad it was good.
ReplyDeleteAlso enjoying the kitten tales enormously. Next best thang to having one is a friend who can clearly articulate their antics!
