Just discovered there was a second thread yesterday. Once the comments page is up I have no need to look at the main page, so unless there's a comment mentioning the new thread I'll never be aware of it until the next morning after a computer restart.
Potato soup a clear liquid. Hmmm... Not that I would complain, having liked potato soup the few times I've had it. Come to think of it, I like potatoes most any way they can be cooked.
Back. Have to admit this one's on me. Evidently the malnutrition/brain fog has been going on/ongoing for longer than I thought. When they told me I hadn't paid since March, I nearly fainted. My *sense* is that I'd paid just last month, and that I shouldn't let it go another. . . . I offered to pay them right then, but that until my SS check hits the bank, it'd bounce. They'd used up all their patience, so. . . .
I've always kept this stuff in my head. Guess I need to make a graph. Makes me feel *old*. . . .
Glad Renee's on the mend. The good news is that *chit* used to kill you (killed my Dad). When my brother hit the same wall, 15 years ago, he was out in a week, and better forever in a month. This the boy who'd lived for 30 years on anti-acids. Still there's no denying that NG tubes are nasty stuff, and "nothing by mouth" is no fun either. I got one of the nurses with a merciful heart to let me have "sips of bouillon" after pills. Just the *taste* of something helped.
There is a law in Vermont that if a person needs their electricity for health and safety reasons (like running a home dialysis machine) their electricity may not be turned off, and a person's phone may be turned off from receiving calls and from making most calls, but they can still call for help (like 911 and so on). I hope the same is true there! We were concerned lest you need help and have no way to call for it!
So glad it was "only" you. I hope you won't be so strapped for cash after paying the bill that you don't eat well enough. We can't have you going under in a new way, y'know!
Have you spoken with Thankful yet? She was going to call your Son to check on things.
Late morning, promises kept, the establishment allows a bath Brings towels and soap
The needles all pulled out
Door closed And sitting (wisely) The hot water runs and runs as fingers seek and peel the hot black snaps no longer hooked to the heart monitor And snaps from earlier investigations Three sets in all
Bubbles heat steam warmth freedom beauty joy All you ever wanted.
Dry my hair which glows like a fizzy white halo, don my jeans and pink sweater (I might be human after all) put on my lemongrass sandals And when they allow me gone they let me walk to the door And wave goodbye
Leaving me only how to find this new life the one they gave me back which doesn't much resemble the one I had before
Solid food and solid reads are right up there with Howard Dean!
ReplyDeleteI have fond memories of the potato soup in the hospital (which they classified as a clear liquid).
Way past my bedtime, but I had to check on Renee. Good news indeed! And hi, Cat! Now off to the land of Nod.

ReplyDeleteSorry, Bill.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually that yesterday's midnight thread didn't post until after 5pm.
No wait. It was that I THOUGHT the new thread hadn't posted and created a new one, feeling derelict the whole time! LOL!
ReplyDeleteSure would like to hear from puddle.
listener `~~ You mean I'm not the only one who gets confused? O:-)
ReplyDeleteSo, Renee, can you eat nice things like cream of wheat, or would that be too hard on your system?
ReplyDeleteHi Alan.

Bill, you are most definitely not the only one who gets confused.
ReplyDeleteNope! LOL! 8-)

ReplyDeleteHi everybody. Demetrius helped me wash my hair. I feel almost like a human being now.
ReplyDeleteThe Gift
ReplyDeleteLate morning,
promises kept,
the establishment
allows a bath
Brings towels
and soap
The needles
all pulled out
Door closed
And sitting
(wisely)
The hot water
runs and runs
as fingers seek and peel
the hot black snaps
no longer hooked to
the heart monitor
And snaps from earlier
investigations
Three sets in all
Bubbles
heat
steam
warmth
freedom
beauty
joy
All you ever wanted.
Dry my hair
which glows like a fizzy white halo,
don my jeans and pink sweater
(I might be human after all)
put on my lemongrass sandals
And when they allow me gone
they let me walk to the door
And wave goodbye
Leaving me only how to find
this new life
the one they gave me back
which doesn't much resemble
the one I had before

Just about to call her.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes. It's almost miraculous how much being able to wash your hair helps. So glad you're on the mend!!! ♥
ReplyDeleteHi Puddle. You know, well, if you ever need a little folding green to tide you over I'd be happy to help.
ReplyDeletePuddle, beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful indeed.
ReplyDeleteAh Renee. I love thinking of you getting stronger each day, making progress and on your way to feeling truly good again.
ReplyDeleteImagine the two of you having that cleansing experience the same month.
ReplyDeleteWell spoken, puddle.
You *are* a love. Thank you for the thought/offer. ♥!
