Tell it like it is!

  1. Oops! Tail end Charlie on the last thread, and first on the new thread to say that Howard is mostest firstest.

  2. Wow, Cat; you sure "made me look"!
I thought you meant that Charlie had left a message at the end of the last thread!
Hope all is well with him.

Today is the day that Gubernatorial candidates in Vermont reveal their finance reports.
I'm hoping my favourite did well.

  3. BTW, all three baby Swallows did just fine. That one in the middle looked smaller than the other two when we were watching them, and I suspected its egg had been laid and hatched several days later than the others. Then they all fledged the same day, but the little one got onto the roof (somehow) then couldn't work out what to do next. It was one of those super hot days too, so my DIL put him back into the nest. Mama Swallow resumed feeding him in the nest, until he fledged happily a few days later. Now they all like to hang out in the nearby field and sit UNDER THE HORSES for shade!

  4. Well, since I'd just answered Cat on the back thread I *knew* Charlie wasn't there, lol! But I almost looked. . . .

Sweet swallow pic and story. Thank you!

  5. Oops, sorry about the confusion, listener. Charlie's on FB. He's one of my "friends," in fact. You can find him that way, I think; that is scroll through my friend list till you get to him and click. He's doing okay, more or less, as far as I know.

  7. Visit Arty to read about the labors of the Great American Songwriter.

Donno what's wrong. I can't settle or concentrate, but keep flitting from project to project. However, I suppose the good part is that I have stuff to occupy me. It's not like I get bored or anything...

  8. Blogger seems up to no good. Tells me I have to sign in, but when I do, it takes me to the manage blogs page. Which seems to be the only way I can get to post. Ah, well.

'Nother pretty day here. Feeling very lucky ~~ Rick's weather is awful (hot, humid, icky -- typical DC weather).

"Pretty" may be subjective. Bright, sunshiny, bit of a breeze. But 91 deg and humid. Window fan is on high and emphatically needed. Took a siesta mid-afternoon -- the Spaniards have the right idea.

  10. And the Greeks, and the Chinese. Greece: noon till six; China, noon till three.

  11. The Blogger situation does sound awkward, but at least it works in some fashion. Could be worse.

I'm beginning to envy your weather.

  12. Pretty much all around the Med, I thought. Didn't know about China though.

  13. Hi all. Last night I was watching a new series featuring Dr. Zahi Hawas, the head of Egyptian archeology stuff. I used to admire him extremely, and always enjoyed the shows about the new finds and digs and such.

Now for the "tell it like it is" part! As it turns out he's one of the meanest S.O.B.s I've ever seen. Screams at everybody! Loud! Nasty, bossy, makes Mel Gibson's rants sound like a baby's lullaby

  14. I'm gonna run off now. Have one more border to finish on a quilt and *really* want to get it done tonight.

  15. I sure needed one today!

We need to follow the lead of our cats.
Mine naps all day then gets the Kitty Zooms at night when it cools down.
    =^. .^=

  16. Sorry I missed you, Susan! ♥

I was off posting photos for the next 9 days.
They're all from one location, too.

    ENJOY!!

  17. Well Stevie sleeps a goodly part of the day, and does wake up around dark. . . . but 'zoomz' wouldn't exactly describe him. Now or prolly ever (though I didn't know him in his kitten years). Slouches would be a better description of his way of being in the world. . . .

  18. That's because kitties are smarter than we are. That's why they rule the world.

  19. Oh, Susan, I'm sorry. It's awful to be disillusioned like that about someone you admire. *hug*

  23. Emma-cat has an overactive thyroid, which adds to the Zoom factor.

  24. Well spoken, Cat.
