It's Fuzzy Kitty Day!

I don't know why anyone bothered calling the middle weekday "Wednesday" when
"Fuzzy Kitty Day" is lots more fun. Ha!

What are you doing for defenseless creatures these days? (Alan is, of course, exempted from this question, having so recently explained about letting the cherry possums go and ensuring that the coon got a good placement.) :-)

  1. Howard is still and always first!

And we're feeding incredible numbers of wildlife here in the suburbs. A few days ago we had 8 mallards and 4 rabbits in the back yard at the same time. Too many kinds of birdies to name. We keep our five fuzzy kitties in the house where they'll be safe. They get to watch "Wildlife T.V." through the back windows. They seem to get especially excited by the bunnies and chipmunks.

  2. Good work, Susan! ♥

Fuzzy Kitty Emma's favourite is clearly Mr. Chippy. She goes bananas when there's a chipmunk in the vicinity...even though she too is an indoor cat. Her least favourite, judging by the size of the tail she gets is any bear.

We are being supportive of wildlife biologists as they band birds and help keep habitats safe for them. Our hearts go out to the biologists along the gulf coast...!

Still no new comments? Everybody must have been really busy today.

Finally got started on Boneshaker and am about 1/3 of the way through. So far as good as I thought it would be.

Oh, yes, and on today's topic: We find that our three current kitties are about all we can comfortably handle. When one of them passes on, I suppose we will adopt another stray.

And we no longer put food outside for out cats. We didn't mind other cats eating it, but we got tired of feeding the 'possums and 'coons. The bunnies and birdies always fended for themselves.

  5. Amen. Praying for all the life, wild and otherwise, disrupted by the oil spill.

  6. Every day is fuzzy kitty day! 8)

Dad feeds the birds regularly, but that's it. All the elaborate feeders and squirl wheels and such have gone by the board; just too hard to maintain. A regular old bird feeder is all we have now.

  7. Slow rainy sleepy day here. With computer crashing right and left, lol! But did finally get the car plum full, so tomorrow off to Mercy House, so I can do a refill. You lucky city dogs that can have charities doing pickups for you. . . .
