Homelessness, Hunger "working out well" for Evacuees

Tara posted at 10:27 p.m. Homelessness, Hunger "working out well" for Evacuees. The post addresses the (sadly not surprising) appalling words by Barbara Bush that I posted in the previous entry here. Since then, I have found out from Atrios that what Barbara said was even worse than what most of us have read. The beginning of her statment was apparently:

"What I'm hearing which is sort of scary is that they all want to stay in Texas. "

Lovely woman.

And here's the transcript of Keith Olbermann's smackdown of the Bush administration:
The "city" of Louisiana

It's, as Zaphod Beeblebrox memorably said, a total vocabulary failure! I mean, how can that woman, for lack of a better word, wook at herself in the mirror every day? BLYUCK!!!

  5. puddle, I thought of you when I posted the link. Glad you got to see it.

I put a new post up, by the way. Was working on it well before I posted this thread, and wanted to finish it before going to bed.

DISASTER PLANNING - our personal preparedness plans and supplies

During this three-day weekend, many of us will continue put fund raising
and response plans in place to assist the huge numbers of people with
disabilities affected by the aftermath of Katrina. Many will be watching
and listening to the horrific reports from the Gulf States, awesome in
scale, and hopefully we will finally see emergency response get into
    gear.

As we watch and hear about our brothers and sisters with disabilities:
die, suffer, or somehow muddle through?. It is a good time to take stock,
review and update our personal preparedness plans and supplies as well as
those of the organizations we are a part of? here are some resources
