Bush rejects our reality, substitutes his own

So, Democrats now have subpoena power, but the White House does not plan to honor it.

Bush's attorney told Congress the White House would not turn over subpoenaed documents for former presidential counsel Harriet Miers and former political director Sara Taylor. Congressional panels want the documents for their investigations of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales' stewardship of the Justice Department, including complaints of undue political influence.
Can we please impeach his sorry ass, and then throw it in jail?

Easy Reader Open Thread

I have the coffee hour thread from the other night on Street Prophets (especially commenter Marko who posted the YouTube video) to thank for this discovery.

P.S. Just FYI, but I've added a few new links to my Google Reader shared items, and Demetrius and I have some new designs up at Cafe Press.

Ask MSNBC why they support Coulter's hate speech

Via Crooks and Liars: Ann Coulter Links Barack Obama To Terrorism On Fox News

Colmes: “Oh, so only republicans can talk in churches?”

Coulter: “No, but I do think someone named B. Hussein Obama should avoid using hijack and religion in the same sentence.“
From the comments (thanks, Holly!)
From my Obama yahoo group

MSNBC will be featuring Coulter tonight for an entire hour. Below is a list of MSNBC email addresses and the email I sent to MSNBC:

hardball@msnbc. com , countdown@msnbc. com, tucker@msnbc. com,, GeneralComments@ feedback.

Below is the email I sent MSNBC:

I am a long time viewer of MSNBC and the slow march to help the Republican Party on most MSNBC shows has been unacceptable and putting Ann Coulter on Hardball for an hour to spew her deceitful venom is the last straw. I am fully committed to never watching MSNBC or NBC (except for Countdown) from now on.

FYI, there is a genocide going on in Darfur, wars all over the Middle East, Destruction of our Democracy in the Vice President's office, millions of Americans being ripped off or without health care, global warming and New Orleans is still in ruins. You might want to look into some of that when you are done falling all over Paris Hilton and Ann Coulter.

Please email MSNBC and pass this on to others who might help.

Thank you

Todd Smyth

Also, here's the video of Elizabeth Edwards calling in to Hardball to confront Ann Coulter.

Worth a thousand words

David Stevenson sent this pic from the Saturday show at DemFest. It's a shame most of the crowd left before the entertainment started. There was some really good music, and really bad improv, but it was fun and I felt sad for those who came from far away to perform to so many empty chairs that night.

My main performance was to be at the Blogger's Breakfast, so I got my shot at the larger crowd, and my chance to sing a memorial to Edwin and jc. Howard liked my Gore/Dean T shirt and he signed one of my cds. I got to play Gizmo with Thankful, Denise and Mainefem, and for three wonderful days, all was right with the world.

After what I've been through this past week, it's nice to look back and remember time spent with longtime friends.

14 years ago today

Fourteen years ago today, I became a mother for the first time. One of the CDs we brought along to listen to in the delivery room was Paul Simon's Negotiations and Love Songs

So, in honor of the occasion, I give you Paul Simon's Mother and Child Reunion, performed by Ziggy Marley.
